Episode 19: Zatoichi Challenged

Tonight our hero finds himself reluctantly shepherding a toddler to find his father, of course this leads to a ton of trouble. We are back and this episode is a real doozy. Tonight we stray away from our original path to dive into the slimiest, grossest time of the year: Ghoul Summer. We are watching 1960's The Blind Menace starring Shintaro Katsu, a film about a blind murderer and con artist that predates Zatoichi by 2 years.

Episode 16: Zatoichi's Cane Sword

Welcome to episode 16 of The Blind Podsmen and tonight we are watching Zatoichi's Cane Sword. Our hero finds himself (again) caught between a villiage and a ruthless Yakuza that plans to take them for all they are worth. During his adventure he meets a blacksmith that so happens to be the student of the man who made Zatoichi's famous sword, which our hero learns is on it's last legs

Episode 14: Zatoichi's Vengeance

We are back again with Episode 14 of The Blind Podsmen. Tonight we are watching the 13th movie (and the halfway point in our quest) Zatoichi's Vengeance. Our hero finds himself making a delivery for a dying man to his family and ends up caught up against a ruthless yakuza boss. He also meets a blind monk who calls into question whether or not Zatoichi's actions are a force for good or evil.

Episode 13: Zatoichi and the Chess Expert

And we are back with a new episode. Tonight we are watching 1965's Zatoichi and the Chess Expert. Directed by the series original director Kenji Misumi, we find our hero befriending a samurai who is skilled in the game of chess. However, things begin to go sour for the blind swordsman as he discovers that his new friend is not who he seems to be
