Episode 22: Samaritan Zatoichi

After a loooooong break we are back with movie 19, a soft reboot of sorts of the Blind Swordsman series explores a darker, less controlled Zatoichi as he finds himself once again in conflict.

From IMDB: Zatoichi is tricked by a crime gang into killing a man. Realizing his mistake, he sets out to protect the dead man's sister, who is conflicted in accepting his help.

Tonight we are visiting the 20th film in the Zatoichi series, 1968's Zatoichi and the Fugatives. This one is a surprisingly dark entry in the series featuring a tremendous amount of gore and violence and almost no humor.
